Alumni Spotlight: Jason Bertrand '99; David Caughran '98, '08 photo
Jason Bertrand '99 was an EIU student when he got his start in the music business, playing in a cover band with friends including David Caughran '98, '08. Jason and David are still making music together today, although they've abandoned covers in favor of their own original traditional country songs.
Check out Jason and The Haymakers' "mixture of train beats, guitars, and battle scars" during their show at the Homecoming tailgate from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, on the practice fields just south of O'Brien Stadium.

Vote Coach Spoo Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year
Here is your chance to vote Coach Spoo 2011 Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year! The Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year is awarded to the college football coach who best demonstrates sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility and excellence on and off the field.
If Coach Spoo wins, he will receive $50,000 to donate to his favorite charity, and the EIU Alumni Association will receive $20,000 for student scholarships. Vote now at coachoftheyear.com!
