Alumni Profile: Henry P. Coyle '89

In an economy that has left many in the home construction business floundering, Henry P. Coyle '89 is guiding his company to great success. Coyle, who was named 2008 Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Illinois, was recently featured in a Chicago Tribune story.

EIU, area to get national TV exposure

"Heartland Highways," WEIU-TV's weekly show that airs nationwide on RFD-TV, will feature EIU-related stories in two episodes this season.

  • Dwain Naragon, an EIU ceramics professor, is included in the episode that will air on WEIU on March 13 and 15, and on RFD on April 6.
  • The "Heartland Highways at Home" episode will feature Coles County, including EIU and WEIU. Its WEIU air dates are May 1 and 3; its RFD air date is May 25.

Women's Luncheon: 'Inspiring Empowerment'

Ladies, bring your female friends and family members to the Alumni Association's first-ever Women’s Luncheon, "Inspiring Empowerment," in Schaumburg. Erin Weed '99, founder/CEO of Girls Fight Back! will present her "Women’s Safety 101" lecture.

Reunions set for Panther Marching Band, Pink Panthers

If you're a former member of the Panther Marching Band or Pink Panthers, mark your calendar for Homecoming 2009 (Oct. 16-17), when we'll host an on-campus reunion in your honor.
