When Rick Scheuring was 4, he watched a homecoming parade for the Apollo 11 crew in downtown Chicago. Little did he know that four decades later, he would have an office in NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, allowing him to work with those same crew members (Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins) to improve astronauts' health and safety for future missions.

for the EIU Alumni Association's 2009 alumni awards. To read the criteria for the four awards, as well as brief biographies of past recipients, please visit our awards page.
Recipients will be recognized during the annual Homecoming festivities, including a dinner held in their honor on Saturday, Oct. 17.
