Alumni spotlight: Anthony Buich '99
Former Panther quarterback Anthony Buich, president of LaPaz Fishing Charters in Mexico, has co-founded Fishing4Freedom, a program that will allow wounded Special Operations soldiers and their families to fish from a luxury yacht in the beautiful Sea of Cortez.
Be sure to watch this fall's issue of Old Main Line (the Alumni Association's members-only magazine) for more information on Anthony; his wife, Tammy (Schurch) Buich '01, who ran track and cross country at EIU; and the inaugural Fishing4Freedom event.

Maurer trades football for country music
Former EIU football player Jake Maurer '04 has been busy making a name for himself in Nashville, including becoming a regular performer at the famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.
Jake says he is excited about playing for the EIU community in an upcoming "Panthers on the Road" event, Aug. 25 in Effingham's Rosebud Theatre. EIU alumna Jackie Lawson '05 and her Hillbilly Rockstars will open the free concert.
